RCD Testing

CJM Electrical can assist you with testing your RCDs for a safer workplace.

RCDs (residual current devices or safety switches) are prone to failure, so routine electronic testing and measuring is important to ensure the safety of your workplace.

A safety switch is designed to switch off the electrical supply when a fault has occurred. This can be caused by a faulty appliance, or when someone accidentally touches

an energized piece of equipment. The disconnection or tripping of the

RCD should happen within 40 milliseconds for Type 1 RCDs, and

300 milliseconds for Type 2 RCDs. If the RCD takes too long

to trip, the results could lead to a serious injury or fatality.

CJM Electrical can conduct regular and routine inspections of your

RCDs to maintain a safe working environment for your employees.

An electronic comprehensive report is provided via email. Hard copies

can be provided on request.
